KYOCERA AVX TransGuard® Multilayer Varistors provide a wide range of reliable SMT components for bidirectional overvoltage protection with the advantage of EMI/RFI attenuation in the off-state for professional, industrial, and commercial applications. TransGuard MLVs are zinc oxide (ZnO) based ceramic semiconductor devices with non-linear voltage-current characteristics (bi-directional) similar to back-to-back Zener diodes. These KYOCERA AVX MLVs have the added advantage of more significant current and energy handling capabilities, speedy turn-on time, multiple strikes capability, and EMI/RFI attenuation in the off-state.

FlexRay Automotive Varistors

KYOCERA AVX FlexRay Automotive Varistors are zinc oxide (ZnO)-based ceramic semiconductor devices with non-linear voltage-current characteristics (bidirectional). The devices enables greater current and energy handling capabilities as well as EMI/RFI attenuation. Featuring a compact 0402 footprint, these varistors offers a 25kV ESD rating, sub 1ns response to ESD strike, and complies with 27.5Vdc Jump Start requirements. In addition, the devices meets the requirements of automotive FlexRay network applications. AEC Q200 qualified, KYOCERA AVX FlexRay Automotive Varistors are well-suited for RF circuits, sensors, communication BUS lines, drive-by-wire auto applications, and data transmission lines.

KYOCERA AVX CAN BUS Automotive Varistors are zinc oxide (ZnO) based ceramic semiconductor devices with nonlinear voltage-current characteristics (bidirectional). These varistors are similar to back-to-back Zener diodes and an EMC capacitor in parallel. KYOCERA AVX CAN0005 CAN BUS Automotive Varistors have the added advantage of greater current and energy handling capabilities as well as EMI/RFI attenuation. These devices are fabricated by a ceramic sintering process that yields a structure of conductive ZnO grains surrounded by electrically insulating barriers, creating varistor-like behavior.
